From the countryside to an exclusive dinner at the golf course, variety is always available here.

Sóller and Puerto Sóller

Northwest Mallorca is a favourite tourist and residential destination with a typical Mediterranean style. The region is best known for its stunning landscapes, abundant lemon and orange groves and the traditional town of Sóller with its antique railway connected to Puerto de Sóller via a delightful antique tram. The climate, the idyllic surroundings, the light, the town and surrounding villages make this a fascinating place which every year attracts thousands of visitors.

Soller old town features stately mansions with grand facades and elegant architecture reminiscent of South America which is quite unusual on Mallorca. Soller’s famous antique railway starts at Plaza Espańa in Palma and winds its way through the Tramuntana Mountains and the Sóller Valley. In 1997 the Soller Tunnel was opened to connect this area with Palma cutting the journey time by half and avoiding a long drive over the mountains.

Puerto de Soller is a picturesque location in a sheltered bay which has been inhabited as far back as the Stone Age. This region was so isolated from the rest of the island that since Medieval Times Soller and its Port has exported citrus fruit to Southern France and a lively trading and a cultural exchange developed around the Port. Today, especially in the summer, Puerto de Soller is full of bustle as many tourists visit Soller Town and hop on the antique train to Puerto Soller. In the evening, when many of the day’s visitors have left, it resumes its relaxed pace. The two main beaches here are Platja den Repic and Platja des Través these are sandy beaches and feature good facilities and an excellent range of cafes and restaurants along the Port’s promenade where visitors can swim, eat, look out to sea and watch the fishermen at work.

Deiŕ

Deia is an absolute jewel of the Mediterranean Sea. Near the northwest coast of Mallorca is the idyllic village situated on a hill at the edge of the Tramuntana Mountains. Deia impresses with its romantic and picturesque centre of the village. Especially the Baroque parish church of Sant Joan Bautista, creates an inspiring atmosphere. Nearby you can find a small museum of sacred and secular artefacts from different centuries. Additionally a second, archaeological museum is situated below Delia.

Since the beginning of last century many painters, authors, musicians and film actors have settled in Deiŕ, a fact which created Deia’s nickname of the "artists' village of Mallorca". You can find exquisite boutiques, hidden galleries, two luxury accommodations and excellent restaurants and bars, where even the crowned heads of Spain eat once in a while. With its beaches and bays, like the lovely bay La Cala, where a few remaining fishermen still go out at dawn to cast their nets, Deia has still preserved its traditional charm.

Valldemossa

Valldemossa is one of Mallorca’s most picturesque and historical villages located in the heart of the Tramuntana Mountains surrounded by beautiful scenery. The village is dominated by its famous monastery the “Cartuja” where the composer Frederic Chopin spent a winter with his lover, George Sand, in 1838 to escape the cold weather in Paris. Although Chopin composed some of his best loved music during his winter in Mallorca, including the Raindrop Preludes, his poor health forced him to leave the island. Valldemossa continues to celebrate his memory and in August a Chopin Festival is held each year in the monastery.

This beautiful village features traditional stone faced houses dating back to the 16th century many of which have been carefully restored and each house proudly displays pots of flowers around the entrances. The centre of the village is closed to traffic so a walk around the winding streets is the best way to take in the authentic atmosphere. Nearby the Port of Valldemossa can be reached by a steep, winding road opening out into a dramatic stretch of coastline where famous neighbours Michael Douglas and Catherine Zeta Jones have a holiday residence.

Santa Maria & Inca

The centre of Mallorca will enchant you with its picturesque landscapes and the authentic villages with their weekly markets. Views of the surrounding mountains make the central region very attractive. The villages around Santa Maria, Santa Eugenia, Alaró and Binissalem, well known for its wine growing area, are all only 10 - 15 minutes from Palma. The villages that are oriented towards the north coast such as Selva, Sencelles and Llubí surround the third largest town of Mallorca, Inca, famous for its leather factories.

Llucmajor/ Cala Pi/ Cala Blava/ Son Verí Nou

The Llucmajor area with its 325 square kilometres, is the largest community in the Balearic Islands in terms of size. Its borders reach the bay of Palma and include the large residential areas on the southern coast, such as Cala Pi, Son Verí Nou and Majoris. The south coast of Mallorca, with its romantic bays, tranquility and fantastic sea views, is especially attractive.
